This is the greatest novel by a French writer, Alexandre Dumas. The adventures take place in France, Italy and the Mediterranean Islands. This novel is about the adventures of the second captain of a trade ship, Edmond Dantes. Edmond goes to the island of Elbe on the request of the first captain of his ship. As a result of his success, Edmond is promised to be made the first captain of the next voyage. He will marry his lover and see his father. However, a long adventure awaits Edmond ; because, he has to defend himself against enemies such as his cousin Fernand and his friend Danglars to be happy.
